Bank statement converter: PDF to Excel and CSV
Choose a PDF statement and get a spreadsheet. The file stays on your device, and every row must add up to the balance the bank printed. If it does not, you get the reason instead of a wrong sheet.
The converter needs JavaScript, because it reads the file in your browser and sends nothing to a server.
How it works
- Your browser opens the PDF, with its password if it has one. Nothing leaves this device.
- The converter finds the transaction table and reads each row by its position on the page.
- It adds up every row from the opening balance and compares each result with the balance the bank printed.
- If every row agrees you can download the sheet. If one does not, you are told which one, and no file is made.
What it does not do yet
- Scanned statements and photos are refused.
- Statements with no running balance column are refused, because nothing could prove the rows.
- Dates must carry a year. Amounts must have 2 decimals.
- Not every bank's layout has been tried. A layout that cannot be read is refused, not guessed at.
